2006.RE Workshop

synopsis

18 industrial design students from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, participated in 'Recharge:Relocate' workshop, that took place in two cities, initiated in Milan and completed in Dublin. The objective was to explore different ways of enhancing a "school trip" experience.
The 2nd year undergraduates started the project whilst visiting Milan for Salone del Mobile 2006. They were to identify problematic elements of their trip and present these problems with possible solutions in terms of products or services. The students were taught how to render a solution through scenario-building, a technique they have not previously experienced.
The main themes of the project were, recharge (physical or personal accessories) and relocate (orientation, place). Returning to Dublin, the students developed design solutions and created scenarios to communicate their projects.
